Surgical microscope
Only what you can see can be treated well.
If these fine structures become infected by bacteria due to deep caries or dental trauma (e.g. the pulp being exposed in an accident), the pulp has to be removed in order to save the tooth in the long term. This is done in a root canal treatment.
After careful cleaning and disinfection of the canal system, the fine canals are hermetically sealed with a thermoplastic, biocompatible natural rubber so that bacteria cannot recolonise them.
Because these structures are tiny and barely or not at all visible to the naked eye, treatment under the surgical microscope is essential for success and therefore for keeping the tooth long term. Combining innovative methods, state-of-the-art precision instruments and optical aids, we can save teeth that would previously have had to be extracted and replaced with complex, costly restorations.
