Dentist discussing an X-ray with a patient

Closing a gap with a fixed solution – digitally planned in 3D and precisely carried out.

Implantology

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root. It replaces the root of a lost tooth and later supports a crown, a bridge or a denture.

The implant is a small screw made of well-tolerated titanium or of ceramic. It is placed in the jawbone, where it fuses firmly with the bone over the following weeks. We then attach the visible restoration to it – in all-ceramic if you wish.

This means a single gap can be closed without having to grind down the healthy neighbouring teeth for a bridge. Several missing teeth can be replaced as well, and removable dentures can be given a firm hold on implants.

Guided implant surgery: plan in 3D first, then place the implant.

How we proceed

1. Consultation & examination
We examine your teeth, gums and jawbone and discuss which type of restoration is suitable for you – with all costs explained transparently in advance.
2. 3D image & digital scan
With our 3D X-ray unit (cone beam CT) we capture the jawbone, nerves and neighbouring teeth in three dimensions. We also scan your teeth digitally with our intraoral scanner – no impression material needed.
3. Digital planning
On the computer we determine the position, length, diameter and angle of the implant – based on the available bone and on the future crown. We show you the plan on screen.
4. Custom surgical guide
The plan is used to make a precisely fitting guide that sits on your teeth during the procedure and guides the instruments to the planned position and angle.
5. Implant placement
This allows the digital plan to be transferred precisely to your mouth. In many cases it also makes a particularly gentle approach with a smaller access possible.
6. Healing & restoration
Once the implant has healed in, we make the crown or bridge and attach it to the implant.

Precisely planned in 3D

Guided implant placement with a surgical guide

Your benefits

  • Precise digital planning
  • Greater safety during the procedure
  • Gentle approach
  • See the plan on screen beforehand

With guided implant surgery nothing is left to chance: thanks to the three-dimensional image we know how much bone there is and where the nerves and neighbouring teeth lie before the procedure begins. This also lets us discuss with you at an early stage whether additional bone grafting makes sense.

We only take 3D images when they are medically justified, and with as little radiation as possible. Find out more about our 3D X-ray under Technology.

PRF – platelet-rich fibrin

If you wish: support for wound healing from your own blood

Your benefits

  • Made from your own blood
  • No artificial additives
  • In addition to implant placement

PRF stands for “platelet-rich fibrin”. Immediately before the procedure we take a small amount of your blood, just like at your GP. A centrifuge is then used to obtain a fibrin concentrate containing platelets and the body’s own growth factors.

The PRF is placed in the wound area during implant placement or bone grafting. It can support the natural healing of gums and bone. As it is made exclusively from your own blood, it contains no foreign substances.

We will decide together whether PRF makes sense in your case. Just ask us – we will be happy to give you detailed, individual advice.

So you can enjoy your implant for a long time

Just like natural teeth, implants need thorough care. Alongside daily oral hygiene at home, this includes regular check-ups and professional teeth cleaning, during which we gently clean the areas around the implant as well. This allows inflammation around the implant to be detected early and avoided.
